Saloni, Humber College Marketing Student. Loves going out and trying new places.

You know those fancy places where they take your coat and have a candle in the middle? You probably walk past it and yearn to go in but laugh when you see the prices. I know, I’ve done it. But what if I told you that you can eat there? You can take your hubby or your SO and impress them with your amazing money saving skills.

Each year, Toronto holds two events called Winterlicious and Summerlicious. These events are hosted to allow people to taste and enjoy the meals at high-end restaurants without paying those crazy prices. Over 200+ restaurants participate. They have three course fixed prix-lunch for $15, $20 or $25. Or you can get the dinner deal for $23, $35 or $45.

With these deals, they give you 2-3 choices in each of the sections. The meals are beautifully crafted and are a great way to try new places out. It’s an opportunity to have a great, lavish experience without paying the big bucks.

You have unlimited choices with the type of food you want to try. This includes rustic Italian, Contemporary Canadian, Modern India, American, Fillipino, seafood delight, Asian fusion, French and the list goes on and on.

These events do have specific 2 week periods in which they run. Winterlicious, which recently passed from January 30 – February 12 2015 included deals from 5th Element, A La Carte, Urban Tavern, Amaya Indian Cusine and etc.

You can get the full list here

You can take advantage of these super good deals this summer at Summerlicious. Its runs from July 3 – July 19 2015. This years picks include:

Another good thing is that new restaurants are added to the list each year, thus providing you with unique experiences each time.

Sounds too good to be true? The only down side of these deals is that they are held during the specific times. I would also highly encourage you guys to reserve your spots in advance as many of these restaurants are pretty popular so they fill up pretty quickly.

You don’t always have to spend crazy amount of money to get new experiences. It’s the people you spend the time with that help make the memorable. I hope these ideas get your minds rolling so you can try out those fancy places and make some new memories. And who knows? You might just find a new favourite restaurant.

Lastly, go out, get new experiences and have fun!

Don’t forget to let me know how you liked these restaurants.
